Pear Tree Vets is the creation of Aisling and Katie, two local vet mums, who have between them over 25 years of experience in veterinary medicine and surgery. We wanted to create a community based independent veterinary practice where we could provide the best care to pets in the area, and support their owners too. We want to be open and transparent about the services that we offer, and what those services cost. We will always provide you with flexible options for your pets care, collaborating with you on the best route for you and your pet.
We want to provide our services sustainably, by minimising our impact on the environment - full details can be found at https://www.peartreevets.co.uk/how-green-are-we
Our Experienced Vets
MVB GPCert(SAD) PgC(Derm) OCQ(V)CA MRCVS
Director and Vet
Aisling grew up in rural Ireland, before moving to Dublin to study Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2011 with First Class Honours. After initially working in France in mixed practice, Aisling moved to Leamington Spa in 2013 and has lived here since.
Before teaming up with Katie to open Pear Tree Vets, Aisling has worked in various practices across the Midlands.
While Aisling loves medicine and surgery, her true passion is in Dermatology (skin and ear disease). She holds two certificates in Dermatology and is a recognised RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Dermatology, and runs an Advanced Dermatology Service from Pear Tree Vets.
Outside of work, Aisling can be found enjoying a walk with her dog Ellie, visiting a local park with her daughter, or appreciating the produce of a local independent shop or restaurant.
BVSc CertAVP(GSAS) PGCHE OCQ(V)CA MRCVS
Director and Vet
Katie grew up in Cambridgeshire and graduated from Bristol University in 2010.
Prior to partnering with Aisling to open Pear Tree Vets, Katie has worked in various practices across Cambridgeshire, Daventry and Warwickshire.
Although Katie enjoys all areas of general practice, she is most captivated by surgery. As well as obtaining a post graduate certificate in Small Animal Surgery, she has spent 2 years teaching final year vet students at Nottingham University. Katie's expertise in this area allows us to offer advanced surgical procedures.
At home, she has two children, two dogs (Indie & Biri) and cat (Roshi). She is never found without a good book on the go and her favourite holiday destination is Cornwall and bodyboarding down there.
Our Nursing Team
Aimée Barber
Head Veterinary Nurse
Aimée has been a Veterinary Nurse since leaving school. She has worked in primary care practices, emergency care, and also referral hospitals. She has a real passion for patient care, and giving that personal service that you get from a local practice. She loves working in a passionate team, and being part of the local community.
She has a lovely family at home and enjoys spending time walking and visting friends. She also runs a local Rainbow Pack and enjoys helping out at school and village events. Her pets include her two cats, Tiger and Leeloo, as well as a tropical fish tank.
Lucy
Registered Veterinary Nurse
From a young age, Lucy has harboured a deep love for animals, always knowing that she wanted to dedicate her life to working alongside them. This passion guided her educational journey, and in 2019, she proudly achieved her qualifications.
At home, Lucy shares her life with Oscar, a rescue cat who was initially supposed to stay just for one bank holiday weekend but soon became a cherished family member. Outside of her professional life, Lucy is an avid fan of all things Disney, finding joy and inspiration in the magical world of Disney stories and characters.
Lucy prefers the intimacy of small, independent practices, where she can truly get to know both the clients and their beloved pets. This setting allows her to form meaningful connections and provide personalized care, which she believes is essential for the well-being of her patients. Lucy's dedication to her work and her genuine love for animals make her an invaluable member of the team.
Millie
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Millie started her veterinary nursing career in 2018 and she qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) in 2022.
She is particularly interested in surgical nursing and anaesthesia, and she is hoping to complete certificates in both of these areas in the future.
Outside of work, she spends her time horse riding and rehabilitating the wildlife that has been brought into veterinary practices.
She also has her rescue animals, a Border Collie named Riley, an African Grey Parrot called Nikki and two cats - Beetle and Kenneth!
Our Reception Team
Ann
After a long career in financial and health services, Ann decided to follow her true passion for animal care and welfare and went to work with Guide Dogs in training and lots of Guide Dog puppies!
Ann enjoys meeting people at reception and learning all about their pets. She has worked in veterinary hospitals locally and is excited to give a warm welcome to clients and patients at Pear Tree Vets.
In her spare time, Ann is dedicated to looking after her two adopted dogs (Tasmin and Harry) and two young rescue cats (Pixie and Freddie), who keep her on her toes!
Emma
Emma loves to spend her free time walking and exploring the muddy countryside, paddle boarding in the summer, and jumping in the car to go holidaying in Cornwall, Devon & Wales.
Since she was little, she's had a passion for all things holistic, helping people and caring for animals, and she has a range of qualifications to make sure clients and their pets are well looked after. She has several years experience as a veterinary receptionist. She has a one year old rescue cat called Stitch, and a 10 year old daughter at home.
Felicia
Although Felicia qualified as a Fine Art and Antiques Valuer at university, she quickly realised that her real passion was to work with animals. She has loved animals from a very young age. She grew up on a farm surrounded by cows, ponies, dogs, cats, rabbits and chickens (all of which had names!). She has kept many pets over the years and she rescued three cats whilst living abroad.
She currently has two rescue dogs. She has had receptionist experience at an equine vets as well as at a small animal vets, and has also been a dog walker. Her spare time is spent predominantly walking her own dogs, reading, gardening and being Mum's taxi to her two daughters. She is very much looking forward to meeting and welcoming the Pear Tree clients - human and animal!
Sally
Sally has worked in customer-facing roles all of her life including at Birmingham Airport, Kenilworth Castle, and more recently at a Vet Clinic in Leamington Spa.
Growing up, Sally had a variety of pets including cats, hamsters and snakes! So combining her two loves of animals and working with people means the veterinary world is perfect for her.
In her spare time, she enjoys history, watching football, spending time with her family and most importantly of all, she has a rescue cat named Grayson who is a real character!
She looks forward to meeting and welcoming all clients and patients to Pear Tree Vets!
